WEEK 3

Reflection on Week 3 lecture:

This weeks lecture I found Humphrey Repton's appropriation of nature interesting - trying to make nature look more natural. This lead me into thinking about how my island should be represented. Either as a false idealised version of ature, or a realisticly natural.

WEEK 2

Clean water which contrasts from the grey stone. The stone looks as if it was cut, but is natural.

Manmade, progressive,

A smooth, clean environment, that has been idealised

A wild environment, rigid, growing, revealing Romantic notions

Reflection on Week 2 Lecture:
I found this weeks lecture very interesting, as I like to learn about modern forms of art.  I found Christoph  Schneiber's work to be inspiring, and I'm considering incorporating his style o f subtly into my island. The absence of humans within his work is also something i'd like to incorporate.

Reflection of Week 1 Lecture:
This week Russell introduced us to the world of real-time environments. He showed us the different ways  that  Cry engine had been used in the industry. I found the previous students work useful, because it gave me a sense of direction. The most influential work he showed was the one with the floating island in space. This inspired me to be more creative and unique in my practical work.,
